Luis Bravo - Espiral EP

Luis Bravo – Espiral EP (MonoG Records)

Luis Bravo returns to Monog with the superb Espiral EP which features an excellent collaboration with Jose Vizcaino and a top notch remix from Pysh. It’s been a while since Luis’ last outing here, it was back in 2016 when he delivered his Bubbles EP which was very well received indeed. Since then he has continued to impress with his unique brand of quality music on various labels. Luis is joined by San Francisco based producer Jose Vizcaino on Comfort Zone where he brings his special brand of deep tech to the release. A well established artist, Jose boasts an impressive back catalogue spanning several years on top labels, a pleasure to have him at Monog. Pysh also joins us as a debutant delivering a solid remix on Comfort Zone. Pysh is a unique artist with a passion for music. After many years as an artist he has appeared on a raft of labels and continues to develop his sound. Thanks to his understanding of sounds he can move between genres with quality always at the forefront. A formidable trio of artists on this one and together they’ve created a solid dancefloor sound.
Espiral intros with a surreal musical sequence made up of dark pads and strange, noisy FX. A punchy kick drum bursts through and is joined by a deep bubbling bassline which transforms effortlessly into a crunchy 303 style sound. Slicing hi hats cut through the dominating lower frequencies add movement and rhythm to the track. Cool synth plucks mesmerize as those dark pads return, taking us on a trippy escapade. A top notch cut for the late night sessions that is not to be missed.
Next up we have Pysh’s remix of Comfort Zone which gets going with a solid, thumping kick drum and bright crispy hi hat combi. Gritty bass synths introduce us to the darker side of the groove as hypnotic arpeggios cascade through the sound. On the low end a rumbling bass lurks waiting to pounce as the intensity rises. Subtle melodies creep into the techno groove and lock us in for the duration. Quality stuff that will not disappoint.
The Original Mix of Comfort Zone rounds of this trio of quality cuts and right from the off we get a nice, flowing deep tech groove that lures us in. Tight beats offer up a solid rhythmic flow as a powerful, probing bassline controls the low end. Mesmerizing pads swirl overhead and are joined by musical percussions that add character to the sound. Mystical voices draw us deeper into the groove adding a trippy element. An absolute gem of a track and a definite must have for the peak time experience.

Thermal – Never Saw That Mountain (Berlin Bass Collective Records)

Release date: Friday April 20, 2018

A1 // Life Saver Pt 2
A2 // Foggy Mountain
A3 // Train to Gotemba

Extremely deep, chill, relaxing yet funky and interesting house that integrates beautifully haunting brass horns.
Thermal was introduced to production 2 years ago and since then he has spent countless hours in his studio honing
his sound. Influenced by the varied sounds in his vinyl collection, amassed over years of digging across genres from
Hip Hop to Ambient, Acid, these first three tracks are made with love and care.
While this is the debut release from Thermal, there are plenty of bangers already completed and ready to follow this
release in the coming months!

About the Tracks:

A1) “Life Saver Pt 2”
– Warm house chords in combination rhythmic drums that get you bouncing. Lofi vibe on this one, could easily
see this being mixed into productions from TRP, DJ Seinfeld, DJ Boring, Mall Grab, or DJ Windows XP.
A2) “Foggy Mountain”
– Produced at the foot of Mt Fuji in Japan, the brass will take you away into a sweet dream of better times.
“Reminds me to a warm beach day with my friend. Calm and without-stress.” Functions great in the first hour
or as a chill-down track.
A3) “Train to Gotemba”
– The bassline and drums let you feel the tempo and the brass lets you clear your mind.
“Like being on a train when you are moving at high speed through the countryside, but your head is free to
focus.” Also super strong lofi vibes that would work well paired with tracks from the likes of Luz1e or Sweely.

Route 2 Studio - The Lost Tracks EP

Route 2 Studio – The Lost Tracks EP (Cha Cha Project Records)

Los Angeles soulful house label Cha Cha Project Recordings has been going from strength-to-strength, now spotlighting three of the label’s core producers and a trio of vital Lost Tracks.

The EP launches with label don Juan Hoerni in collaboration with the amazing vocalist Chezere. With a discography of over thirty cuts for the likes of Vega Records, Large Music, and WAX, as well as his acclaimed albums Love On High and Move Mountains on his Cha Cha Project label, Juan continues to make waves in the soulful house universe. “Eternally Free” shows Juan’s acumen for deep, melodic music complimenting beautiful vocals, as well as his sharp production aesthetic. This sexy sound will create late night dance floor action for years to come.

Steve Graeber is an accomplished studio saxophonist-turned-producer, known for his work with Chicago house legend Roy Davis Jr. as well as contributions to the records of Glenn Underground, Boo Williams, Felix Da Housecat, and many others. With vocalist Julia Prudence, Steve has uncovered “Filthiest Disco,” a deep and emotive cut that fuses the Chicago sound through its drum programming with the polished, soulful Cha Cha vibe. Funky bass, guitars, clav keys, and Steve’s trademark sax riffs make this a DJ’s choice.

Also part of the Cha Cha Project family is Zachary Mouton, an audio engineer who has been collaborating closely with Juan Hoerni at his Route 2 Recording Studios. While working with Juan on the Love On High album, the two recorded the funky, acid-jazz flavored track “Dirty”, which includes keyboard work from Scott Wozniak. This cut is dance floor fire, complete with a potent breakbeat, a jazzy stand-up bass line, catchy sax riffs, and a wild guitar breakdown from Zachary. Cha Cha comes correct!

Dub & More - Ogum Reminiscence

Dub & More – Ogum Reminiscence (Sunclock Records)

It is a real train that does not want to stop. We talk about “Ognum Reminiscence”, a devastating deep house production, with minimal-tech influences, composed to perfection for having a strong impact on the energy on the dance floor, as well as building a fantastic atmosphere throughout the club. Thanks to the overwhelming groove, the sharp synths and a tickling bass, it is a record that can be played in the middle of the evening. The dub version goes a lot more with a more accentuated groove and the more acidic nature of the synths … always keeping a certain composure, without making it back in terms of track energy. “Dub & More”, this new Italian duo makes his debut in style … and we at “Sunclock” are happy to welcome them and help them build their path.

Hraach - Paseo De Los Tristes EP

Hraach – Paseo De Los Tristes EP (2018 Remixes) (Ready Mix Records)

Release Date:
April 16th 2018 (Beatport Exclusive)
April 30th 2018 (Worldwide)

For release number 184 on Ready Mix, we are revisiting a benchmark moment in the label’s story; Hraach’s “Paseo De Los Tristes” EP, with a stash of brand new remixes.

Originally released in 2016 with Dave Pad and Beat Factory remixes, the release saw support from Zone+, Armen Miran, EL Mundo, Savvas, BiG AL, Pete Moss, VieL, Darin Epsilon among many others. It was also featured in Trndmsk.de while the Beat Factory Remix was selected by Mark Knight to appear on his “Toolroom Ibiza 2016” compilation.

Since creating “Paseo De Los Tristes”, Armenian born Hraach has been setting the world alight with a series of incredible productions and remixes for some of the underground scene’s most respected labels.

Formed in 2016, the same year “Paseo De Los Tristes” was released, Berlin-based duo Britta Unders are first up on remix duty. Retaining the spirit of the original version, the pair steer the track into far darker waters. Classical piano, haunting strings, bleak synths and a brooding new vocal all seem delightfully at odds with its “Happy Camper” title.

Hailing from Bahrain, Zone+ turns in a slick and hypnotic reworking full of spiritual atmospheres, showing off the sound that has seen his music signed to Lee Burridge’s “All Day I Dream” label among others.

Poland’s Salski lifts the tempo and turns in a warm, sci-fi influenced remaking of “Paseo De Los Tristes” with distorted synth-scapes leading the charge into dramatic musical territory.

Remixing “Bajo El Cielo Azul”, L.A. based Sarkis Mikael lays out a solid deep house groove before adding plaintive guitars and sweeping pads to create an expansive, desert-like soundscape.

Finally, a producer who grew up in a real desert in Lebanon, Rabih Rizk delivers a richly layered and unmistakably middle-eastern reworking of “Bajo El Cielo Azul”, summoning up sonic mirages with thrilling vocal snippets and heavy percussion.

Ioanis & Don Son - New Earth EP

Submarine Vibes proudly presents its 54th release, by two Swiss producers, Ioanis and Don Son. The release is composed out of two original tracks, New Earth and Eve, as well as remixes from Armen Miran and Parallells.

After Ioanis and Don Son released several releases on USA labels Magician On Duty and Making You Dance Records, we’re happy to welcome these two quality artists on Submarine Vibes. They bring us two deep and melodic tracks full of ethno sounds and sampled speech.

The first remix is coming from Armen Miran, USA based producer and DJ, who is well-known for his releases on labels such as Sol Selectas, Time Has Changed Records and Underyourskin Records, as well as his collaborations with artists like Hraach, Love over Entropy, Fake Mood, Amentia.
Armen takes us on a melodic journey, combining his oriental style with the vocals from the original track – New Earth.
Another remix is done by Netherlands duo, Parallells. They bring us a funky and groovy remix of the track Eve.

Jakhira - Sunseeker

Jakhira – Sunseeker (Symmetric Records)

One of our favourites producers returns home. Belgium based, England born JAKHIRA delivers what is for us one of his best productions to date. The Englishman made a superb housey influenced number which driving groove and euphoric melodies will raise you to heaven with the gruitar arpegios on the breakdown.
First remix comes courtesy of non other than the well known MARCO MADIA. The Berlin based artist makes a twist on the Original Mix with his sublime deeper touch making it a more clubby track.
