Da Believer & Ryoda – Never Enough (Buttress Records)

Friday, April 18 2025

“Never Enough” is a musical portrayal of the modern human condition — marked by a constant sense of dissatisfaction and a search for meaning.

We live in an era where reality is distorted by what we see on social media, to the point that our choices and goals often feel uncertain or misguided. Every milestone we reach seems to vanish in the shadow of the next one, leaving us with the lingering feeling that nothing is ever truly enough. In the verse, da Believer is tormented by the idea that, no matter how much he does or gives, it never seems to be sufficient.

But then comes a shift. In the chorus, the weight of “Never Enough” dissolves into the “connection between us”. It’s through human connection — the bonds we build, often guided by music itself — that our existence finds meaning. This leads to a simple yet profound realization: that what truly fulfills us is the ability to connect with the world around us and to live fully in the here and now.

For all those who can never get enough of deep and sweet emotions, this one’s got your name on it! da Believer & Ryoda drop “Never Enough” an intimate journey wrapped in dreamy, emotive lyrics and a smooth yet punchy groove, layered with lush harmonies and melodic fragments. And that’s not all—Andy Bros steps in with a remix that elevates the track into a classic house dimension, infused with his signature fresh twist.

Pure fire for the dance floor!

SAM-A & Korie Minors feat Ayah Tlhanyane – Vizuli (Mo Groove Records)

MGRV are proud to present “Vizuli”, a powerful and uplifting track from an extraordinary international collaboration: Sam A (Switzerland), Korie Minors (Bermuda), and Ayah Tlhanyane (Zimbabwe).

Inspired by the Shona word for “be strong”, “Vizuli” carries a deeply spiritual message—reminding us that no matter the struggles we face, through faith, prayer, and perseverance, everything will be okay. This soul-stirring record blends Afro-Caribbean, North African, and deep Zimbabwean influences, layered with rhythmic percussion, uplifting piano melodies, and an infectious groove.

Sam-A and Korie Minors first connected, setting the foundation for the track. As they searched for the perfect voice to elevate the song’s emotion and spiritual depth, Korie introduced the incredible Ayah Tlhanyane—whose powerful, transcendent vocals soar over the dynamic arrangement.

Together, they fuse the cultural energies of Morocco, Bermuda, and Zimbabwe, crafting a record that is both deeply moving and sonically captivating.

HM061

Big Al – Brooklyn Groove (Haute Musique)

HM returns for its 61st outing, digging into the archives to revive a hidden gem from the vaults.

Originally released over a decade ago on a now-defunct UK imprint, BiG AL’s ‘Brooklyn Groove’ gets a second life with a fresh remaster and a standout remix from the talented Domscott.

The Original Mix is a masterclass in classic deep house aesthetics. Smooth, timeless Rhodes chords set the tone as a warm, rolling bassline grooves effortlessly beneath. An earworm melody rides subtly on top while crisp percussion and soulful vocal snippets weave through the mix, evoking that golden-era house vibe while still sounding fresh and polished for modern intimate settings and warm-up sessions.

Domscott steps up with a no-nonsense ‘Big Bass’ remix that tightens the reins and dials up the energy. The low-end is beefed up considerably, giving the track a fuller, more urgent drive. He strips things back while adding his own tricks and retaining the soul of the original, making space for punchier drums, sharper transitions, and a more dynamic arrangement aimed squarely at the dancefloor.

Each sonic layer seems to open an invisible door, marking the beginning of a journey. A perfect piece for moments of communion: introspective yet vibrant, with an energy that connects both body and spirit.

Lorena dims the light and raises the pulse. The bass—acidic, groovy, and serpentine—guides the way while ethereal atmospheres float in counterpoint. A refined production, ideal for the dancefloor while remaining emotional. Perfect for that moment in the set when connection and movement are sought without excess.

An EP that celebrates contrasts, opens portals, and offers pathways. Doga Erbek’s signature: emotional clarity, sonic intention, and a sense of detail that leaves a lasting impression.

Retrofract – Dreams Of Y2K EP (Personal Belongings)

The British producer, based in Spain for a few years, has an outstanding ability for mixing oldschool nostalgic House melodies with sunkissed laid-back grooves, making waves on different labels as well as his own Retrofracted Records. We are so proud to host his most beach-friendly productions, this time with 2 tracks included on his ‘Dreams Of Y2K’ EP.
