Space is the place for riccicomoto’s expansive debut album on Ready Mix Records, titled ‘Huge Distances’.

Spread over 19 tracks, this first offering from riccicomoto on Ready Mix Records opens with ethereal static, like some half-deciphered messages from deep space. The theme continues throughout the project, as riccicomoto plays with motifs of connection and detachment through a broad and carefully considered musical palette.

Drifting from introspective downtempo gem ‘The Inner Perception’ which features haunting piano by Gustavo Varela, through mid-tempo dubby electronic groover ‘I Think Of You’ with vocalist Silvia Bollnow, to deep house stepper ‘Robot Man’ with Bryant Goodman, ‘Huge Distances’ shows the full range of riccicomoto’s eclectic influences, safely tethered to earth by his unique production aesthetic.

Interwoven by sublime moments of musique concrète, ‘Huge Distances’ embraces the genre-agnostic sound made famous by the likes of Theivery Corporation and Fila Brazilia, whilst at the same time carving out its very own space in the electronic music landscape.

To misquote the late great Bill Hicks, riccicomoto’s debut long player explores ‘space, both inner and outer’, reminding us that the distances between them may not be so huge, after all.

Album concept quoted by riccicomoto ‘…my idea of the new album was to produce a soundtrack like a radio play. To tell a story with intergalactic grooves and sounds and to create a journey through different genres & supposedly huge distances .’

Booka Shade – Pray (Remixes) (Blaufield Music)

A single which kickstarted the duo’s impressive opening to 2021, Booka Shade reveal a trio of remixes for ‘Pray’ this March courtesy of Chris Malinchak, Monkey Safari and Joplyn.

Brooklyn born, New Jersey-based DJ and producer Chris Malinchak shot to international acclaim in 2013 with his hit single ‘So Good To Me’, with the years following welcoming material via the likes of French Express and Ultra, plus the launch of his weekly radio show on Sirius XM Chill. With material via labels including Anjunadeep, Bedrock, Get Physical, and their own Hommage imprint, the home of their forthcoming album scheduled for this summer, German pairing Monkey Safari have become one of melodic house and techno’s most popular duos, while rising Berlin-based star Joplyn arrives fresh from her debut album ‘Pappelallee 01’ having already collaborated with the label bosses on their 2020 album, ‘Dear Future Self’.
Offering three unique takes on the track, Malinchak’s remix sees the American layer dreamy melodies and sparkling synths beneath the original’s infectious vocals, with the release set to drop first to open the month. Hot on its heels, Monkey Safari work rich chords with refined percussion and fluctuating leads to unveil a warping and winding journey, before Joplyn toughens up the production and brings it into the peak time via punchy kicks, sweeping undertones, and resonant basslines.

Chris Malinchak’s remix of Booka Shade ‘Pray’ drops via Blaufield Music on 2nd March 2021, whilst Monkey Safari and Joplyn’s remixes drop on 12th March 2021.

INESSA – Te Quiero (Leisure Music Productions)

Leisure Music are very excited to present a very deep and organic EP coming from Inessa with an excellent Afro House remix from talented DJ/producer Jay Fase.

Inessa’s track Te Quiero is a deep organic house track perfect for your summer feeling and vibes. She kicks it off with a soft shaker and toms weaving in her romantic accordeon melody as well as vocals and various synth FX. A deep kick opens the groove of the track accompanied by a deep grooving bassline. The track progresses nicely with atmospheric synths and flamenco guitar as well as piano lines. Te Quiero is an ode to Love and is made for you to lean back and float in this vibe. Perfect for your beach party or organic deep house set.

Jay’s remix picks up on the tom groove opening up his track a little deeper with just the vocals and some deep percussive and synth stabs. He then lets his powerful kick take off the track with a deep and groovy bassline. A wonderful elaborate percussive journey gives the track a powerful afro groove. Guitar and deep synths as well as Inessa’s key elements are implemented in a very refined. way. A fantastic interpretation from Jay and perfect for your deep Afro House set best played as well to establish those summer vibes.
