Krippsoulisc – Lose Yourself EP (Ready Mix Records)

We are delighted to welcome South African producer Krippsoulisc to Ready Mix Records for our 216th label release, which features two original tracks, plus remixes from Kanedo, Soire aka Moe Turk and Ariane Blank.
Nicely fusing dub-techno and deep house sounds with his own African twist, Krippsoulisc’s opener ‘Lose Yourself’ is a beautifully produced, smooth and evocative cut, with a hypnotic groove that perfectly matches its title.
Spanish producer Kanedo provides a blissed out, terrace-worthy remix of ‘Lose Yourself’, adding a Balearic piano and organic percussion touches.
Second Krippsoulisc original, ‘Make A Move’, heads into somewhat darker, techier territory, with dense atmospherics and a potent groove designed for late night dance-floors.
Better known to many Deep House fans as Moe Turk, Soire slows down the tempo of ‘Make A Move’ and re-imagines it as a more reflective, introspective piece with a mellower character.
To close out the package, German producer and founder of the ‘Shoes, Bags and Boys’ label, Ariane Blank, turns in a subtle, deep rework of ‘Make A Move’, with a rock solid groove and added vocal flourishes.

Release Date:
March 18th 2020 (Beatport Exclusive)

VA – Diversions II (When We Dip XYZ Records)

Release Date: Friday 20 March 2020
Format: Digital

XYZ is a label set up by the team behind the When We Dip blog, and its sound focuses towards melodic grooves and ambient moods, where intricate melodies meet club-friendly percussion.
Diversions is a series that explores the diverse processes and influences that manifest during the remix process and features tracks from the label’s back catalogue reimagined by a selection of artists, this time including new remixes from Daniel Bortz, Facundo Mohrr and TÂCHES.
Daniel Bortz is a stalwart on the esteemed imprint Permanent Vacation, but has also graced enigmatic labels such as Innervisions, Suol, and Watergate. Through collaborations with Acid Pauli and remixes of James Blake, Bortz remains impossible to categorize. Gliding under the radar, past trends and genre boundaries, he is one of the most forward-thinking artists in the underground scene.
Facundo Mohrr is a name at the tip of many tongues. One of the most exciting producers in the deep and melodic scene, Mohrr is surging onto the international scene, quickly asserting himself as one of the biggest tastemakers to come out of Argentina since Hernan Cattaneo with his releases on labels like All Day I Dream, Kindisch and Magician On Duty.
Rounding out a sumptuous trio of remixes is TÂCHES, a top-tier producer who’s skilfully maintained an air of mystery throughout his illustrious career. With releases spread over a wide selection of labels including contributions to Nurvous Records, Kitsuné and Exotic Refreshment, this remix is another fine example of his exceptional talent for thinking outside the box.
Soaring eloquence, deep emotion and delicate sound design are all key elements in this exquisite melodic house release.

Hamza Rahimtula & Mehul Pant – Tonemes EP (Viva Recordings)

Since founding Wind Horse over a decade ago, New Delhi DJ and producer Hamza Rahimtula has released a number of expressive singles for his pioneering imprint, as well as on the likes of Kompakt, King Street, and Adaptation Music. Hamza’s musical mission has been to seamlessly merge floor-driving deep and tech-house styles with a reverent helping of global musical traditions. On his latest single for Viva Recordings, Hamza expands on this by delving deeper and techier into his distinctive style. And on the flip side, he introduces Mehul Pant, a fellow New Delhi-based DJ/producer and collaborator on the single’s title song.

The first cut is “Bourj Hammoud,” potently driven by a pulsing low end. A kick-and-hi-hat shuffle is accented with distant vocal proclamations as the track steadily builds. A gorgeous and ghostly breakdown introduces exotic melodies, and the tune masterfully opens up with crisp percussion. “Tonemes” follows, and Hamza is joined by Mehul Pant for an excursion into the deep and minimal. Percussive electronics are accompanied by reverbed hits and washes, and various sonic treatments float in and out of the stereo field. The track has a dead-of-night feel, effectively soundtracking a tight afterhours affair. This one’s for deep diving.

Stanccione – Quintana EP (Cocada Music)

Promoting the talent of artists from all over Latin America, Cocada has gradually conquered its space and respect in the electronic music scene as a promising project at a global level that connects different expressions of art. The label’s second release makes this delicious fusion very clear. the EP “Quintana” by Caio Stanccione combines poetry, music, visual arts and great interactions between the thinking minds behind each of these fronts.

Quintana, a name that in addition to the EP tittle is also the name of its main track, is a tribute by producer and DJ from São Paulo Caio Stanccione to Mario Quintana, a precious Brazilian poet and journalist who contributed a lot to the literary history of Brazil, and more specifically to one of his poems, called “O Tempo”, where the writer, as if in an outburst, talks about the race of time in our lives and the preciousness of taking advantage of the present doing what brings us happiness. Stanccione intertwines the declaration of these verses with a contemporary and elegant musical composition.

The EP continues with two expressive collaborations. The main one comes from one of House Music’s most respected and avant-garde names. The Englishman Jimpster delivers an excellent remix where he works with various elements of the original track immersed in a charming atmosphere but out of the obvious, as is the custom for the artist. The second remix was due to the experienced Leo Janeiro & Ossaim, who give Quintana a special lightness and a certain tropicality.

The musical project also brings one of the most requested and well received house tracks between house DJs and the public in 2019. “Another House Track” is literally a bomb for the dance floor and finally reaches everyone. To finish this very tasty recipe, as a good cocada should be, the artist Paula Dornelles comes again to translate music into image, combining modern and smooth elements of our culture with the composure of those who work with a lot of commitment. Turn up the sound and enjoy the ride!
