XYZ is a label set up by the team behind the When We Dip blog, and its sound focuses towards melodic grooves and ambient moods, where intricate melodies meet club-friendly percussion.

Esteble have previously featured on Bar 25 Music, Stil Vor Talent and Do Not Sit On The Furniture Recordings before dropping their Amazonica EP on XYZ in April 2020, and this is the second part of the release with new remix versions from Powel, Ninze & Okaxy, Alejandro Mosso and David Orin.

Powel has become something of a regular on XYZ after building his reputation with outstanding releases on other imprints such as Lee Burridge’s influential All Day I Dream plus many others of an equal calibre.

XYZ are ecstatic to welcome Ninze & Okaxy as they join the label following many notable tracks and remixes on high-flying labels including Underyourskin Records, Magician On Duty, Laut & Luise and Katermukke.

Alejandro Mosso is quickly becoming a pillar of XYZ, following his Sirocco EP released by the label, but his exquisite style can also be found on Akbal Music, Third Ear Recordings, Cocoon and Hivern Discs.

David Orin has been a key figure in New York’s surging deep and melodic scene and is making his way onto the international radar through a series of productions dripping in quality. This release gives further exposure to the budding talent who is set for big things.

As we enter the summer months during a time unlike any we’ve seen before, Esteble’s Amazonica EP flows along with an air of calmness, offering a respite from the craze.

JCROW is a London based producer and his productions draw influences from the darker side of electronic music. Primarily, his tracks are stripped back and to the point, with percussion and the bassline driving his tracks.

B-LIV – Moebius EP (Wind Horse Records)

At a time when a pandemic has the world teetering on uncertainty , music can be a healer and a motivator. Keeping this in mind, Windhorse records is thrilled to welcome veteran Mexican DJ and producer : B – LIV on to the label with an enchanting five-track EP that also consists of remixes from Kali G, Hamza and Mehul. The release titled ‘Moebius’ is bound to enthrall your senses right from the outset!

The EP kicks off with the title track itself and opens up with a sensually slow house groover that peppered with ethnic rhythms and airy soundscapes. Moebius begins with a chunky kick drum that’s accompanied by a subtle bassline and organic percussion. The tune builds a heady aural cadence that enraptures the listener with B-Liv’s musical sensibilities. Stabs of delicately construed melodic notes tease the ears with what’s in store, slowly overlapped by soulful overlays from a flute. Coupled with an acid-influenced, arpeggiated lead Moebius builds into a wonderful crescendo through an emotive and near silent breakdown to a rapturous groove.

The second track ‘Escarlata’ depicts the intimate side of B-Liv’s production abilities with a heart-warming minimal house bomb. Fairly simple in form but extremely intelligent it’s concoction – Escalarata overlays lush, dreamy atmospherics with hypnotic and mysterious vocals that lure your senses into his electronic wonderland. Functional in its flow, the track makes the mind wander with a deep, hazy breakdown, interspersed by magical transitions and a groove that can ‘lock-in’ a dance floor and inspire ecstatic dance-floor emotions. Don’t be surprised if you hear this being dropped at 6:00 AM somewhere in the near future.

The well-travelled, much admired and truly loved Windhorse veteran – Kali G, steps up on remix duties for the third installment of the EP with a powerful, stripped down rendition of ‘Moebius’. The track begins with a busy and tight amalgam of a kick-drum, snare, hi-hats and flutters of eclectic instruments. A slight departure from the regular for Kali who’s distinctly middle-eastern panache and vibe come through despite the novel approach. Unrelenting, the track makes sure your feet don’t stay at one spot at the same time. The notes of the flute appear fleetingly, almost reminiscent of the original but different at the same time. We’re pretty sure you might be throwing shapes to this one at home or at the club!

Label boss Hamza needs no introduction as he contributes a proper peak-time banger for the fourth of the five-tracker. The track kicks off immediately with a phat bassline that’s interspersed with tropical percussive grooves that lend this version of ‘Moebius’ with it’s own aura. The remix leads into a deep and filtered down, hypnotic breakdown that adds to the intrigue, coupled with samples from the original. As the filter opens up the track explodes once again, commanding any sound-system that it’s blasted on. A sure-shot addition to the record bags of several DJs who play this kind of underground sound as B-Liv and Hamza team up to toss down something that you would call ‘Propah’!

To round off the EP, Windhorse welcomes talented Indian DJ & producer Mehul Pant to the label for remix duties. Moebius gets its final piece of rework with a tasty house and dance floor warmer that has its own sense of illusion and aural mystery. Lively rhythms power the track along into a special breakdown where Mehul isn’t afraid to depart from standard track arrangements. A break-beat percussive pattern displays intelligent use of time-patterns to alter the sonics of what you expect. Seamless transitions and a simplistic groove give the track a composed finish, marking the perfect end to an excellent debut EP from B-LIV.

Each year Sol Selectas embarks on a musical journey that collects tracks together from all four corners of the globe, and this year it includes music from more than 20 different countries.

Featuring on this year’s compilation is a selection of new music from label favourites like Namito, Derûn and label owner Sabo, alongside imprint debuts from talents such as Ayala (IT), The Oddness, Nebula (AR) and MoM.

The journey embarks on the long roads of meditative chill out that lead to the blissful atmosphere of vibrant house with afro grooves of mixed tempos. Also taking in the desert vibes of tribal deep house and organic tech, this spiritual release links mind, body, and soul.

This is the fifth edition of Summer Sol with each of its predecessors achieving the coveted No.1 spot in Beatport’s sales chart, and it is expected that this latest compilation will be equally popular.

Summer Sol is released on the day of the Summer Solstice to mark a celebration of the year’s longest day of sunshine. The compilation is a celebration of world culture, and what makes us all different, as no matter gender, skin colour or social background… Sol Selectas motto, is that we are all equal under the light of the sun.

The full release features thirty tracks in total, and this promo is a sampler that features ten tracks that they feel gives a snapshot of what to expect from the full release.

Through this pandemic we’ve experienced a tremendous amount of isolation, for most, it has been difficult. In turn, this has shown and re-affirmed the true value of art, acting as a support base and a creative outlet for so many of us.
Music is a companion, an intangible relationship we should all explore.
