Alexander Matchak – Mr. Lufthansa EP (Seta Records)
Our next successful release comes from the east again. Alexander Matchak is a Russian artist living in Moscow and debuting magnificently on Seta Label with a strong EP called “Mr. Lufthansa”. All three tracks are pleasant but energetic deep house tunes. The two originals and one remix from a compatriot Y-rich are definitely punchy weapons for all kind of deep house sets. “Mr. Lufthansa” pack is therefore a next great piece from the eastern part of the world.

‘Better Places’ is the enchanting new release from South Africa’s XtetiQsoul, which marks his second release for one of the fastest growing labels on the AfroHouse scene, Afrocentric Records. Organic Afro beats, hypnotic synths and emotive sweeping strings bob and weave around a beautifully captivating vocal performance teased with soothing harmonies from Ay J. On remix duty, Martin Landsky takes the song to Tech church, offering a smouldering darker vibe armed with supple power beats and menacing synths and tension filled drops. Italy’s Luis Radio offers up a silky smooth old school Soulful House vibe, where a bouncing 90’s groove dances with warm piano and jazzy guitar licks that really compliment the vocal.
Markus Homm & Benny Grauer – Dubrutsche EP (Acker Dub Records)
Melodic echoes drift through the stereo panorama like ice cubes orbiting through the hi-proof universe of a milky cocktail. Between them stretches the intricate tick-tock of a liquified clockwork. Markus Homm and Benny Grauer sculpt their compelling grooves from the hard, repetitive substance of Techno – but eventually their productions have a round, organic elegance that is reminiscent of mushrooms sprouting amidst the sparkling dew of a early morning meadow. The perfect sound for this listening experience comes from a 10” vinyl, whereas the digital counterpart of the EP comes with an exclusive third title.

Dj Vivona feat Lisa Shaw & Echo B – Back To You (Remixes) (Sunclock Records)
Traxsource Release: 26th July 2018
Worldwide Release: 9th August 2018
“Back2You” is back! The fantastic release produced by Dj Vivona featuring the legendary Lisa Shaw with Echo B, is reinforced by fresh and engaging remixes from Dazzle Drums and Q Narongwate. The original was a great success & the second part will not be less.
The remix of the Dazzle Drums has a particular, as well as spectacular, reading in Afro Deep key. The groove is well calibrated with a nice low lap that makes it bounce well on the track. The soft piano melodies caressed by refined percussion accompany the whole piece. After the second minute the melodies of marimba give magic to the whole atmosphere until you get to the third minute where a bit of malice comes out thanks to electronic synth turns in a continuous crescendo that flows into a hypnotic and overwhelming pause at the same time. A masterpiece.
Q Narongwate has a more classic mold and purely Deep House. The groove is very particular accompanied by warm pad melodies. The piece builds an extremely refined and classy atmosphere highlighting the sung. Towards the end of the piece there are surprising melodic evolutions of very original wind and percussion. The dub version retains the same characteristics by focusing more on the groove and the bass. Another fantastic package you can not miss.
Cee ElAssaad – Sacred Chant EP (Ready Mix Records)
Release Date:
July 2nd 2018 (Traxsource Exclusive)
July 16th 2018 (Worldwide)
For release number 188 on Ready Mix, we welcome acclaimed Moroccan producer Cee ElAssaad with two stunning original tracks, plus a remix from French legend Rocco Rodamaal.
Placed at #24 on Traxsource’s ‘Best Afro House Artists’ top 100 in 2017, the prolific talent of Cee ElAssaad has brought him to the attention of dance music’s elite, with Louie Vega, Danny Krivit, DJ Spinna and Osunlade all supporting his music in recent years. Stellar releases on King Street, Nite Grooves, Offering Recordings and Tribe Records have cemented his reputation and we are delighted to finally welcome him to our Ready Mix family.
Opening cut ‘Sacred Chant’ is just that; a soul-stirring, spiritual vocal blended with ethereal strings and flutes; dancing like a candle flame over a potent rhythmic house instrumental.
For his sublime remix of ‘Sacred Chant’ which has already been supported and hammered by Black Coffee, French deep house icon and Rodamaal alumnus Rocco Rodamaal lays down a terse, hypnotic groove, building a version that displays polished tech and warm Afro influences in equal measure.
Second original track ‘Inner Voyage’ retains a distinctly North African flavor, with traditional flute melodies performing sonic acrobatics above a pulsing and percussive afro-house workout.
Groove Junkies & Scott K feat Indeya – Higher (Remixes) (Afro Acid Records)
DJ Pierre’s Afro Acid imprint has gone from strength to strength over the past few years with original material from the label founder, collaborative releases alongside the likes of House music luminaries Louie Vega, Green Velvet and further original material from the likes of Stretch Silvester, Terry Farley, Timo Garcia, Danny Howells and more. Here we see the imprint revisti Groove Junkies, Scott K and Indeya’s ‘Higher’ with some fresh takes from Pierre himself and New York’s Quentin Harris.
The original mix of ‘Higher’ opens the package, the soul-infused house cut perfectly sets the tone with soaring string lines, vocal refrains and bumping drums before Quentin Harris’ remix strips things back to lay focus on choppy bass hits, bright electronic synth melodies and swinging drums. Pierre originally wanted one remix from Quentin Harris to add to his Wild Pitch Mix, but Quentin Harris delivered instrumental as well. After hearing the mix played out over the weekend, Pierre decided to do a Rerub for a more peak time feel, resulting in the next contribution to the release ‘Higher (DJ Pierre ReRub vs
Quentin Harris Remix). DJ Pierre’s Wild Pitch Mix follows next with airy atmospherics, modulating bass hits and infectious, processed vocals from the original before the ‘Quentin Harris Instrumental’ completes the package.
