Ready Mix Records are delighted to drop our 209th release, the ‘Translation EP’ by Deep Active Sound, featuring remixes by Marco Grandi, David Kassi, Hernan Cerbello and Staves.
A musical project founded in 2009 by Mikhail Bessmertny, ‘Deep Active Sound’ has found favour with deep heads the world over, thanks to his effortless, intricate production style.
Title track ‘Translation’ is no exception, with a synth-laden, spacey vibe and a truly masterful arrangement.
Hungarian producer Marco Grandi is first up to remix ‘Translation’, bringing a floaty, melodic deep house feel to the track with uplifting chords and a rock-solid groove.
Respected Argentinian artist Hernan Cerbello tackles ‘Translation’ next, bringing a calm, brooding intensity to the track; teaching a class in tension and release.
Hailing from Greece, David Kassi is last up to rework ‘Translation’, infusing a lightly swung, bouncy groove and creating a lively, vibrant version.
Second original tune ‘Other Culture’ shows a more introspective side of Deep Active Sound, with hangdrum and percussion atmospheres lending an organic feel to this smooth and evocative piece.
Finally, Italian duo Staves lay down a chunkier take on ‘Other Culture’, with Latin percussion and dub effects shimmering over heavy drums and warm bass.

A major player in the Dance Music culture of Detroit, Alton Miller was one of the founding partners of the historically significant Music Institute – a place that nurtured the future sound of Techno Music with residents Derrick May, Chez Damier & Alton himself. The Music Institute was inspired from trips to Chicago’s Music Box, Frankie Knuckles’ private loft parties & NYC’s Paradise Garage. After its closure, Alton became an A & R for the legendary Transmat Records before succeeding in the production realm with countless House records. It would be an understatement to say Alton is a pillar of the Detroit electronic music scene. A hurricane of soul, Detroit’s Amp Fiddler is an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist, singer, song writer and producer whose legacy of musical creations is an extraordinary collage of future jazz, soul, downtempo, House, Jazz & Funk. As a member of Parliament-Funkadelic, Amp has toured worldwide.

William Welt – Pete’s Track (22 Digit Records)

The new release on UK based 22 Digit Records is deep and stripped back house music with a remix from Moodymanc who has featured on other labels such as Local Talk, Exploited, 20/20 Vision and Rebellion.
The original titled “Pete’s Track” is from 22 Digit label owner William Welt who has also featured on labels such as Traum and CONSTRUCT.
Moodymanc’s remix is a fresh new rework that’s never been released before, and compliments the original version that previously featured on a vinyl only EP.
Pete’s Track has deep chords and soothing textures blended with minimal percussion accompanied by an intimate vocal about the spirit of house music that moves mind body and soul.
Working in earthy percussion and some extra funk, Moodymanc’s stunning remix has poignant emotion and a truly sensual sound.
