Awka & Edu Schwartz – Truly Enchant EP (Words Not Enough Music)

After the quite well received debut EP signed by Argentine producer Valdovinos, WNE is back with a high level release with three tracks signed by headlabels Awka and Edu Schwartz and a remix by Slow Hearts. Truly Enchant EP lives up to its name with classy sounds and charming style, a record that warms the heart, touches the soul and makes the eyes shine.

“Quiet Inside” opens the work with mystical and tribal vibes, the highlight is undoubtedly the beautiful violin that fits like a glove in the composition.

“Stimm” comes next, signed exclusively by Awka, who chose from the first seconds to create a climate of tranquility through organic atmospheres and textures.

“No Way To Lose”, is a collaboration between the two producers with a smooth tempo, strategically inserted piano lines and sweet whistles. The remix delivered by the German duo Slow Hearts, who has already spread their beautiful melodies through All Day I Dream and Tale + Tone, arrives as a breath of hope for these difficult days, with well balanced percussions drawn along with this inspiring sound landscape.
So now it is the time to close your eyes, free your body and embark on this new journey from Words Not Enough.

Deeplomatic Recordings EP#107 Back on Deeplomatic after a couple of years, Rodrigo Ferrari brings us three original grooves, with some hypnotic melody touches, from deep to tech. In charge of the remixes we have the brazilian veteran Leo Janeiro with his Jazzy mix for ‘Tubular’, the American duo Ne.Hau with their dirty groovy sound for ‘Around’, and the upcoming talent Mascaro on a very clean version for ‘Moment’.

Trndmsk is a highly respected website known for its focused towards melodic grooves with organic textures, and the publications label also called Trndmsk focuses towards the same exquisite style of mystic house.

The label’s new release has original material from Iman Hanzo and remixes by Artenvielfalt, Derun and PAAX Tulum, who each put their stamp on the original’s stunning vocals and haunting synths.

Iman Hanzo is based in Germany where he regularly DJ’s at events in and around his local area of Hamburg. Traxsource selected his track “The Journey” as one of their top melodic releases of 2019 and he has also featured music on labels such as Madorasindahouse.

Artenvielfalt are a duo who have featured on labels ranging from Stil vor Talent to Armada, and Derun is known for featuring on the likes of Cosmic Awakenings, Akbal Music and Bar 25 Music.

PAAX Tulum closes out the release with a remix done in the same style he has featured on Exotic Refreshment, Pipe & Pochet, Sol Selectas and Do Not Sit On The Furniture Recordings.

Fatso 98 – AURA EP (Rogue Decibels Records)

Born and raised in Mpumalanga and known as Mpyatona, Fatso 98 is an electronic music producer unbounded by genres or styles – drawing inspiration from bands like Disclosure and producers like J. Dilla.
3 summertime cuts filled with groove and musicality. Punchy drums and clever sampling makes sure this EP does work.

Yura African – 1982 EP (Seta Label)

After “Deep Dreamer” EP and other various successful tracks on Grooveland compilations here comes another bomb from Yura African. Chilled but massive down-beats of “1982” immediately reminds us the atmosphere from 80’s with its funky and acidic sounds. This was remixed by a young Berlin-based talent Felix E, who modified the original into his warm and melodic style. “Autopilot” closes this EP, which is another solid deep production with evolving dubby chords.

Wheeler del Torro feat Sidney Washington – Quite Alright (Dog Day Recordings)

Wheeler del Torro teams up with soulful songbird Sidney Washington in their third collaboration, ‘Quite Alright’. Loaded with a poignant message, ‘Quite Alright’ gives voice to a common microaggression that women of color experience as Sidney delivers a heartfelt account of the unseen experiences that many women face in the world of dating. The release comes with 3 very different musical flavours: a powerful Afro House vibe dipped in melancholy from New York’s Doug Gomez; a stellar, soulful House outing from Italy’s up and coming talent Paul Adam; and an upbeat, piano-driven House groove from Wheeler himself.

Wheeler del Torro is a producer, musician and DJ originally from Cuba. He has been working in the industry for the past 15 years, promoting and DJing at parties throughout the United States and Europe. He is often referred to as Tony Humphries’s musical protégé and is one of the founders of the Cultural Detectives – a historical art experiment, bringing unheard poems and stories of slaves to life by combining them with modern music. 2020 saw Wheeler launch his own label, Dog Day Recordings, an outlet for quality Soulful and Afro House talent from across the globe. Dog Day’s first 3 releases feature New York based vocal talent Sidney Washington in ‘If Only You Could See Me’, ‘Voce e Linda’ and ‘I Want To Try Again’ ft Nuzu Deep, with remixes on the label from Coflo, Doug Gomez and FNX Omar.
