VA – Flavouritism Vol. 5 (Oh So Coy Recordings)
2020 has been a bizarre year.
Not all bad though – we’ve continued releasing music we love through this, our 10th year of operation. A digital catalogue that now stands at 159 releases strong and 8 vinyl LP’s.
We want to say a huge thanks to everyone that has supported the label thus far and hope you enjoy our 5th installment of Flavouritism – featuring 7 tracks of unadulterated House Music across genres.
Processing Vessel – Rise Of Vega (Sound Vessel Records)
Get ready to be taken away for a musical journey presented by this release. Rise Of Vega is one of the gems from Processing Vessel and to shine the gem you need a master craftsmanship. This is where the craftsmen comes in with their remixes, names you know and love. A new comer to SVR is IndySoul and he makes a very strong entrance with his remix. With a touch of Latin House and melancholic piano keys, his remix is really addicting. Then you have ZaVen, the talented Dutch producer who really takes music to another level of emotions. From beginning to end, ZaVen’s remix is like a documentary of sounds. Another new member for SVR is BiGz AkA Big Al and his intro to the label is with a Deep, Dark and Sexy Remix of the Original. It’s a remix that calls for all underground music lovers. To match the beat and style Lebedev (RU) would be the closest to BiGz remix as more upbeat drifting remix. Lebedev (RU) gives that uplifting touch to the remix. Like any clubs or parties there is always that closing track and for this release the closing track belongs to Domestic Science. It’s an afterhours remix with the ending of the journey, smooth, hypnotic and ambient touch to the Original.
Offshore & Coen – Remember EP (PhatElephant Records)
After amazing releases on Jimpster’s Freerange and Fred Everything’s Lazy Day’s labels, the Dutch Duo Offshore and Coen are back on Phat Elephant with a very strong EP: Remember.
This EP has been produced over a longer period, finetuning, adding new elements and working with Loot Sprout for amazing vocal addition on the track Remember made it complete. And not to forget the fresh Remix delivered by the Berlin based producer duo Quadrakey.
Phat Elephant Recordings is a record label based in Amsterdam, aiming for high quality Deep House releases, working with young and talented producers, not forgetting about the experienced veterans house music knows today.
Adrian Hour – Conga & Soul EP (Get Physical Music)
Buenos Aires talent Adrian Hour lands on Get Physical with a pair of superb tracks that prove why he is one of South America’s brightest stars.
Having really established himself over the last couple of years, he has gone on to be a regular in the upper echelons of the Beatport chart. As a Dj he is no stranger to high profile gigs at places like BPM Festival and brings plenty of Latin flare to his productions.
He opens up this fine EP with ‘Conga’, a dark and humid house track that has a chunky tribal groove. Loose percussion is sprinkled over the top and jangling chords and bright pads eventually transform it into a more airy and feel good tune with jazzy overtones that will lift the spirits.
Keeping up the musical house vibes is the expertly lush ‘Soul&Soul’. This one is filled with a constant sense of tension as it builds through loopy drums and freewheeling disco melodies that bring real joy. Once the track drops, feet will stomp and fists will pump making for a perfectly bubbly party atmosphere.
These are two subtly feel good house tunes that are imbued with plenty of musical emotion.
Elchinsoul – Le Aqua (Crossworld Records)
Release date: 5th of December 2020
Elchinsoul no longer needs any kind of presentation when it comes to music, especially music that offers emotions. His latest track is called ‘Le Aqua’ and is a balanced combination between the minimal rhythmic sound and the carefully written melodic lines, resulting in an organic house that we hope will give you boundless pleasure when you are on the dance floor or even at home, given the restrictions of this period.
The original is accompanied by two remixes, produced with the utmost care, one by bValtik and the second written by Puxomos. Both have something to offer when it comes to quality; bValtik as usual, a dizzying tribal house rhythm, with afro elements and a story that will capture our attention while Puxumos’ version is a minimal-tech one, the specific elements of this musical genre being felt from the beginning.
