Darksidevinyl & Kiberu – Henaia EP (Earthly Delights)

Earthly Delights is a record label that releases organic tracks with deep atmosphere and flowing percussion. The label’s latest release is a collaborative Afro house EP by Darksidevinyl and Kiberu.

This is the first time that Darksidevinyl and Kiberu have teamed up in the studio, but both are successful solo producers.

Darksidevinyl is an Egyptian artist currently living in Vienna whose style is a compelling blend of melodic synths and tribal percussion. He has released tracks on labels including the likes of MoBlack, Selador, Yoshitoshi, Akbal Music and Go Deeva Records. He is also a talented DJ who is well-known within the Austrian club scene.

Kiberu is a Swiss artist from Zürich who spent many years cutting his teeth as a DJ before translating his innate knowledge of what works on the dance floor into producing music. He has an upbeat style with powerful melodies and his tracks and remixes can be found on scene-leading labels ranging from Systematic to Renaissance Records.

“Catava” opens the release with fluttering synth stabs and a live conga loop giving the groove a loose and free-flowing vibe, which is augmented with steel drums and shaking top-end percussion. Dramatic horn stabs add to the upbeat vibe of this captivating track.

“Zulu” has heavy downbeat percussion layered with an electrotyping arpeggio and a tense melody synth that is underpinned by a chunky kick drum. Utilising vocal chants and shuffling hi-hats, the track is full of majestic suspense.

“Henaia” closes out the release with tribal rhythms and poignant piano chords that are layered alongside an epic synth line. The track’s expansive sound is augmented by the psychedelic vibes of the first breakdown section and the spine-tingling tantalisation of the second breakdown.

VA – Solitude 3 (Solitude Recordings)

Following the tradition, Solitude Recordings arrives to present their annual multi-artist compilation. Again there will be ten tracks that this time were chosen exclusively by the label’s A&R team composed of Leo Janeiro, Seed Selector and Giorgio Menegatti.

The EP features four tracks by Warung School students and another six that were selected through a cultural contest.

The essence of Warung Beach Club is again transmitted through mesmerizing frequencies and melodies, full of groove and energy.

Solitude V.A 3 features all artists making their debut on the compilation:

The artist Lycra Preta arrives presenting a track full of personality with “Flute Access” which brings strong influences from drum’n’bass and classic house music.

Gab1 and Ignácio, in turn, present the tracks “I Love You In Your Own Way” and “Upside Down” respectively, which add up in terms of elegance, swing and energy, being two bombs of house music.

Bertoldi, who has been a name increasingly seen and commented on in the national electronic scene, makes his debut on the label with the track “Trip To The Desert” that delivers progressive melodies that transport you to a literal moment of escape and inspiration.

Full of personality, the artists Benan and Canavezzi also arrive with their tracks “Show Me” and “Outline” bringing, each in their own way, hot grooves and melodies loaded with emotion.

Completing the team of artists that have been emerging on the national scene and bring all their plurality to the compilation we have Vince Bowen & Drinho, Neoclassic, Zomero and Dani Ebner with “Dance The Darkness”, “GODS”, “Dankemo” and “Sunu Gaal” adding even more dynamics, harmony, emotion to the selection.

Finally, we recommend that you embark on this musical journey that will transport you directly to the front of one of the most iconic clubs in Brazil and the world, Warung Beach Club.

Mellow Men – Foggy Day (Ready Mix Records)

A mystical, musical trio comprising Davor Osusko, Kiano and Below Bangkok, Mellow Men return to Ready Mix Records with the first single ‘Foggy Day’ taken from their album ‘Rebels’, and presented with remixed by riccicomoto and Below Bangkok.

Smooth, rolling, and yes, very Mellow indeed, ‘Foggy Day’ summons up clouds of mist with its subtle atmospherics and breathy synths, handily juxtaposed with rock-solid drums and a rhythmic guitar skank.

The talented riccicomoto turns in the first remix of ‘Foggy Day’, delicately weaving the original parts into a space-age, expansive and intricate prog-tinged groove, melodic and engaging throughout.

One third of Mellow Men, Below Bangkok sneaks off for some alone-time, returning with a sparse, hypnotic take on ‘Foggy Day’, carving away at the melody and leaving only a haunting imprint behind.

Mellow Men close out the package with a Lounge mix of ‘Fogy Day’, supplying sun-drenched synths and lazy drums perfect to drift away with.

VA – Déepalma Ibiza 2023 (10th Anniversary) (Déepalma Records)

German electronic imprint Déepalma celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2023. Since its inception in 2013, the Ibiza- inspired label has become a worldwide brand, a melting pot of House, Deep House and Soul, fuelled by the power to unite hedonists around the globe. Over the past ten years, Déepalma has released over 200 singles and 30 compilation albums across its main imprint Déepalma Records and sister label, Déepalma Soul.

Each year, label boss Yves Murasca and his longstanding creative peer Rosario Galati put together a trio of carefully handpicked and intricately mixed selections to make up the revered ‘Déepalma Ibiza’ compilation, which spreads itself across three immersive continuous mixes that mimic significant scenarios from the Balearic hotspot.

Emiliano Luna Martinez & Antonio Diaz – Nothing More (Villahangar Records)

After the EP “The Lights” last October, Vice Luna returns with a new release for Villahangar: “Nothing More”, a song made together with Antonio(AR), also known as Tony Diaz, DJ and producer from Mexico City.

A new track that represents a new step in Vice Luna’s musical path, with an evident evolution towards a scenario that is always deep as his usual stylistic imprint, but characterized by a more decisive and conscious search for organic and melodic sounds, allowing to offer a much more energetic atmosphere.

In the sound context also stands out a more specific and refined use of the guitar, an instrument selected to give a recognizable identifying imprint of his style.

Diass – Maino EP (Villahangar Records)

After 2020’s Various Artists and 2021’s Bloom Together EP, Diass returns with a new release for Villahangar, consisting of two tracks: ‘Maino’, which gives the title to the EP, and ‘Cumbaya’.

‘Maino’ is a project of full self-expression of the artist, which expresses its full potential with overwhelming vocal samples, a groovy bass line and a playful drum, the true heart and starting point of every Diass creation.
Both tracks on the EP expertly blend House, Organic House and Afro House, expressing the artist’s passion for organic percussion and peak moments, and creating an engaging dynamic and hypnotic appeal, perfect for the energetic atmosphere of clubs and festivals.

The variety of drums and percussion stands out, combined with playful vocal samples, dramatic pads and electronic synthesizers. With the different cultures of the world as a source of inspiration, which is clearly evident from the mix of organic drums, ethnic voices and strong synthesizers, united in a dynamic and surprising way.
