Ready Mix Records proudly unveils its 283rd release, a profound collaboration by deep house music titans BiGz, Soire and Deep Active Sound. Rounding out the release, Hungary’s own Khaaron returns to Ready Mix Records with an ethno-inspired mid-tempo interpretation, slowing down the rhythm to add a warm, earthy vibe that enhances the track’s organic essence.

PIXIE – The Riddler EP (Quetame Music)
Release Date: Friday 29 November 2024
Format: Digital
Niki Sadeki, El Mundo and Zazou’s record label, Quetame, is a melodic house record label with a deep and organic sound. The imprint’s new release features two original tracks by PIXIE, and a remix from El Mundo.
PIXIE was born and raised in South Africa before moving to Amsterdam (Holland). His music fuses the vibrant rhythms of African music with the innovative pulse of electronic beats. Drawing inspiration from the rich musical heritage of his homeland, PIXIE blends Afro house, deep house, and organic elements to create soul-stirring tracks.
On remix duty, El Mundo is a Dutch artist known for his classic collaborations with Satori and recent releases made in partnership with Zazou. He is also a skilled solo producer who has released his spine-tingling style of uplifting melodic house via respected outlets such as Do Not Sit, Underyourskin Records and 8bit.
“The Riddler” is the release’s title track, and it’s got a stripped-back groove with epic suspense and spiralling synths that intertwine with flowing organic percussion.
El Mundo’s remix of “The Riddler” stays true to the original, but he makes subtle changes to thicken the sound of the track, and adds some extra percussion to lift the energy.
“Genesis” combines sweeping pads and Afro percussion with poignant melody chords and an arpeggio bassline to create a smouldering indie dance track.
DJ Pippi & Willie Graff – Universal Language XLP (Music For Dreams)
DJ Pippi & Willie Graff releases an extended edition of their album ‘Universal Language’ continuing their pioneering experiments with the Balearic sound.
This duo of Ibizan royalty began their collaboration 17 years ago, connecting through a special enthusiasm for the freedom and diversity of Balearic music. Odd singles here and there found their way to the labels such as Compost, Leng and Archipelago but not until 2022’s Follow Your Dreams (Music For Dreams) did a longer release see light of day.
Now following up on that celebrated debut, Pippi and Graff present a fresh batch of soulful, luxurious and highly original Balearica. Twelve tracks escort us through the duo’s manifold styles, modulated with subtle layers of eloquent instrumentation and effervescent synths.
Starting with the nebulous Latin-flavoured drama of ‘Un Buen Sueno’ featuring vocalist Carmen Cano. On through ‘N’Goni’, a luscious synth-chugger laden with the effortless artistry of guitarist Mikkel Nordsø.
There’s the shaded machine funk of ‘Golden Hour’, which introduces vocalist Jade PraiZe; the impossibly infectious sun-drenched house cut ‘Soul Free’; the beatless bliss of ‘Harmonized’; the downtempo exotica of ‘Let Me Show You’; the Balearic bossa of ‘Faz Favor’; or the timeless easy-breezy nothing-but-good-times title track.

Shamoun – Meso Haus (Sol Selectas)
Release Date: Friday 29 November 2024
Format: Digital
Sabo’s record label Sol Selectas drops a Middle-Eastern organic house release by Shamoun, which also features an up-tempo remix by Anatolian Sessions, and an Afro house rework by Valeron.
Shamoun is an American music producer and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Los Angeles, and his style blends intricate musicianship with electronic sounds. He recently made his debut release via Sol Selectas when he featured as part of a three-way collaboration with Sabo and Namito on their track, “Spicy Sumac,” but this time Shamoun showcases his solo talents. He has a passion for Middle-Eastern instruments and a love of techno percussion linking to his birth place in Detroit.
On remix duty, Valeron is a Greek artist who finds rhythms and instruments from different world cultures, and mixes them with synths and drum machines. He is also inspired by the music of Greek folk law, and regularly collaborates with local musicians. His tracks are often released via his own record labels Bercana Music and Valeron, but he has also featured his tracks and remixes on other respected outlets such as DAYS like NIGHTS, Stil vor Talent, Magician On Duty, Cosmic Awakenings, and MoBlack Records.
The second remix comes from Anatolian Sessions, who’s a Turkish artist with roots in Istanbul. He has an up-tempo take on organic house, which combines powerful synth lines with organic instruments and invigorating percussion. He heads up the highly influential record label Harabe, but has also contributed tracks and remixes to other imprints such as, Pipe & Pochet, Katermukke, and Lump Records.
“Meso Haus” is the original track on the release, and after a suspense building opening with flurries of electro Bağlama strings, it launches into the main groove with flowing percussion and a throbbing bassline. The electro Bağlama is the tracks defining feature, and it grows in intricacy, as it unfolds with the help of sweeping pads and distant vocal textures.
Valeron’s remix of “Meso Haus” adds extra percussion and a fluttering synth line to chunk up the groove, before introducing the electro Bağlama and other elements from the original.
Anatolian Sessions closes the release with his rework, which lifts the tempo and teases the original’s electro Bağlama, while drawing focus to the percussion and pulsating groove of his acid-tinged bassline.
The artwork by Helia Jamali shines ancient cosmic energy onto a Mesopotamian ziggurat temple, adorned by messages of abundance and prosperity, carved into stone.
Felix E & Michael Ritter – Tagträume EP (Kamai Music)
Format: Digital
Jacob Groening’s record label Kamai Music drops a collaborative melodic house EP by Felix E and Michael Ritter, which combines soothing melodies and thought-provoking vocals with flowing percussion.
Felix E and Michael Ritter are a pair of Berlin-based producers who have worked together regularly, and their combined efforts can be found on record labels such as Discotexas, Minds Alike, Reconsider Music and Kiosk ID. They previously teamed up to do a remix for Kamai Music, but this time they are back with two original tracks.
They are also both solo artists, Felix E has worked with the likes of Lump Records and Cafe De Anatolia, while Michael Ritter has contributed music to imprints including Obenmusik, Mango Alley and Daydreaming.
Michael Ritter’s solo style leans towards progressive house, but Felix E is more organic and Afro influenced. Together their music is a dynamic fusion that combines seamlessly to deliver innovative tracks that have immersive atmosphere and dance floor orientated energy.
The title track, “Tagträume” has a stripped-down aesthetic, crafting a clean, uncluttered sound enriched by meandering synths and a beautifully layered spoken word vocal arrangement composed by Sister Sol.
“Eklat” is the second track, and it unfolds with a gradual progression that creates an atmosphere which is introspective yet danceable. Its percussion has subtle Afro influence, and a poignant melody adds to its deep groove, which is minimalistic yet driving.
Both tracks have a spellbinding tension that’s released in a way which resonates beautifully in both club settings and home listening environment.
