Ralf GUM – Progressions LP (GOGO Music)
‘Progressions’ is the highly anticipated fourth studio album from German born, South Africa residing House Music star Ralf GUM. A journey through exquisite soulful, afro and earthy grooves, ‘Progressions’ features popular singles ‘Back To Love’ feat. Joseph Junior & Ayanda Jiya, ‘A Time And A Place’ feat. Lady Alma and ‘We Repeat’ feat. Paul Randolph. It also includes Ralf’s brilliant new collaboration with South African superstars Mafikizolo on their new single ‘Uyakhala‘ – a spiritual song inspired by a Setswana folk song with the belief that “it takes a village to raise a child” or “a person is a person through other people”. Also on the album is a feast of heavyweight talent including regular cohorts NY Songbird Monique Bingham and US trumpet player and singer Kafele, alongside wonderful vocal talent such as Bongi Mvuyana, Tony Momrelle, Ayanda Jiya and Portia Monique.
“Progressions captures a lot of life changes for me and now finally feeling fully settled in my South African environment, I am grateful how the album both lyrically and musically reflects the different moods and experiences I have lived through during the last 4 years, all thanks to my amazing collaborators.” – Ralf GUM
The album boasts some heavyweight German and South African musicians including co-producer Michael “Nivalito” Ehnes, strings by Susan Mouton and Evert van Niekerk (Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra), various percussion players and Flutist and Saxophone player Mthunzi Mvubu, among others. With four years in the making to get depth, not only in music, but lyrically too, topics on “Progressions” resonate profound messages that touch socio-political topics as much as joyful aspects of life. Packed into Ralf’s ever evolving and unique production style, this stellar body of work reflects on the progression of an artist who found himself long ago, but continues to reinvent himself.
German producer / DJ Ralf GUM began his musical career in 1990 putting on guests such as Frankie Feliciano and Mousse T at his residency in his hometown Würzburg as well as playing further afield in Asia, North and South America. In 2001 he launched GOGO Music, a highly acclaimed label synonymous with global soulful talent and Ralf’s own brilliant output. Ralf has released 3 albums to date – his 2008 debut “Uniting Music” containing the timeless “All This Love For You” and bestseller “Kissing Strangers”; his gold selling classic “Never Leaves You” which included the official South African chart #1 single “Take Me To My Love”; and “In My City”, which was selected dance album of the year by iTunes in 2014. In 2008 Ralf was invited to play in South Africa where he toured extensively, he also met and released music from the now superstar Black Coffee and others and instantly became a fav and regular on the Motherland’s scene. So much so, that Ralf relocated to South Africa in 2012, becoming one of the most pivotal contributors and ambassadors, spurring the growth of the vibrant SA house scene and scooping award nominations in the process.
Ralf GUM will be touring extensively in Spring 2019, starting with his South African tour across Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban from March 01 – April 22, then Europe where he’ll be at Djoon among other top venues from April 26 – May 04, before moving on to North America for one week, to finish of the tour on the 18th of May in London. Fish Go Deep – The Blues Walked In EP (Be Adult Music)
Be Adult Music presents “The Blues Walked In” by Fish Go Deep. The guys bring in a quality package with three original tracks of deep house music. All of the tracks have loads of positive vibes and amazing harmonies. Welcome back on board Fish Go Deep!
D. Diggler – Modularis EP (Lucidflow Records)
Production machine D Diggler is back on Lucidflow with another tight and direct three tracker with ‘Modularis’. Let us just lay it out now – fans of kick drums that can crush a rib-cage will be more than pleased with the title track. ‘Modularis’ sets off on an uncompromising course towards the horizon at full tilt, and is flanked by kindred elements as it flies along its path. Accompanying the meaty metronome are icy synths, feeling like they were pulled from a mid-nineties archive, unthawed and determined.
Pushing further into the package reveals deeper cuts. ‘Lost’ features a heavily swinging mechanical rhythm, which is accented perfectly with shuffling on-beat aspects of the percussion. The synths that feature play out in the most cavernous of caves, one where the walls extend into shadow and the ceiling remains unseen. They ping pong and reverb in eternity, filling the space with ease.
‘Dreams’ leads off with a rubbery bassline that stretches and squirms around the kick. There is a contrast – where the siblings on this release are more than content to thrive in the darkness, ‘Dreams’ sees foamy synths and neon electric pulses cut through the low end rumble like a sorbet. It is perfect as a piece of dance floor relief for those who still want to be massaged by the sound system.
‘Modularis’ comes out on 25th March 2019 and will be available from the usual digital stockists.
Buba – Last Sheet EP (Submarine Vibes Records)
Buba’s superb production has garnered him much attention during these last few years. He has released his music on labels like Click Records, A Must Have, Sound Avenue, The Purr, and One Of a Kind, establishing himself as one the most prominent Balkan producers working today.
The new release brings three original tracks and a remix produced by Austria’s Martin Kremser. The mixture of progressive and deep sounds with some very melodic synths make this EP perfect for the dancefloor.
Martin is returning to Submarine Vibes after his remix for PHCK’s track The Orange Tree of Naranjo. This time he brings great melodic techno rework of track Thoughtful Voice, showing us why he has released his music on prestigious labels like Diynamic Music, Einmusika, Enormous Tunes, and Daer Deer.

Respected at home and abroad for his eclectic productions and DJ sets, Donz serves up an enticing and atmospheric blend of styles in ‘Magic Africa’, an Eastern-flavoured electronic gem with a loose, free-flowing energy.
Adriatic producer Kiano heads into deep waters for his remix of ‘Magic Africa’, deep house waters to be precise, summoning up a rolling ocean of groove to sail away on.
Talented Lebanese producer Moe Turk turns in a bass-heavy version of ‘Magic Africa’, bringing a delectable moodiness to the track.
French producer Rosé Sunset rounds out the package with a genre-defying remix, deftly transitioning from ethnic percussion sounds to synth arpeggios and back again.

Los Reynoso – Adophono EP (EXPmental Records)
We are very happy to have for the very first time with a full release to Los Reynoso the brothers from Tijuana that are doing very well lately. If we don’t add normally other artists to our yearly releases this year we decided to add them as we also have them in the sub label Affinity Lab. This time we got two cuts from them and two remixes by our resident artist Maertz that show two different visions of the track that gives name to this release. After our 10 years of the label this 2019 we wanted to start with some new fresh music and get a new direction but keeping our main roots of Minimalistic underground club sound.
