Sol Selectas returns with the 4th edition of its Global Entry 4 compilation, which features 11 organic house tracks by Amour Propre, Alar, Rex & Lyda, Memo Rex, Brett Leve, GEØVHÄN, Hamza Rahimtula, HOVR and Touzani, plus a collaborative cut by Nicoleo and Ariaty.

This spectacular selection has been hand-picked and curated by label owner Sabo and has an uplifting mood that focuses on the concept of new beginnings to mark 2023’s approach of Spring and winter soon coming to an end. Although each of the tracks focuses on organic house, it also takes influence from other genres such as Afro house, deep tech and indie dance.

‘Global Entry 4’ is the fourth in the label’s annual series of winter releases which help warm our hearts and minds as we wait for the summer months and festival season.

The artists who feature on the release are a mix of label favourites such as Amour Propre and Memo Rex, but all of the other artists are making their Sol Selectas debut, including the likes of Brett Leve whose track on the compilation is his first ever release.

Embracing different cultures from around the world, this multicultural release features music with roots in Indonesia, Argentina, France, UK, Colombia, India, Morocco, Spain, Germany and America.

Collectively, the artists who feature on this release has individually featured on other influential record labels such as Cafe De Anatolia, Bar 25 Music, Get Physical, Stil Vor Talent, Kindisch and Harabe.

Helia’s artwork displays the Global Entry portal in a lush green jungle with otherworldly audio visitors bursting through the doors of perception.

Victor Arruda – My Soul EP (Sonido Profundo)

Sonido Profundo is proud to present the latest EP from rising Brazilian artist, Victor Arruda. Titled ‘My Soul’, the EP features two original tracks, ‘Be Like That’ and ‘My Soul’, as well as a remix by fellow Brazilian producers, Theus Ferreira and Rod Brito.

Despite being a relatively unknown artist, Victor Arruda is already gaining recognition in the electronic music scene for his unique sound and exceptional production skills. ‘Be Like That’ is a testament to his talent, showcasing a captivating blend of deep house and progressive sounds that’s sure to get people moving. Meanwhile, ‘My Soul’ is a more contemplative but groovy track that highlights Victor’s ability to create beautiful, soulful melodies.

Theus Ferreira and Rod Brito’s remix of ‘Be Like That’ is a perfect complement to Victor’s original, adding their own flair and signature sounds to the EP.

George Smeddles – System On EP (South Records)

Following an impressive year of more growth for ever-popular UK artist George Smeddles in 2022, his first South Records release of 2023 serves up a spirited selection of four immersive club-focused cuts that make up his ‘System On’ EP.

Kicking things off, the title cut ‘System On’ provides a generous serving of upbeat deep tech flavours, fusing dusty grooves and characteristically silky musicality from the outset, set alongside a catchy spoken vocal hook and endless splashes of sophisticated flair from start to finish.

‘Get Loose’ comes next, pushing a classic house-inspired agenda filled with skipping drum work and watertight percussive drive. Lush chords, classy synth stabs, and soulful vocal runs undulate throughout the mix, giving the track a gripping continuity that keeps you reeled in and on your feet.

‘Mind Games’ follows, sliding back into minimal/deep tech realms with bumpy beats and basement vibes. Stripped-back rhythms and rich bass tones drive the track alongside another smooth vocal topline as it punches in and out of well-polished atmospheric breaks.

‘On Your Feet’ seals the EP with deeper nuances, swinging cadence and memorable vocals. Another chunky dancefloor heater built around a rhythmic sub-bass melody and a concoction of harmonic fragments will do just as the title suggests – and then some.

Rodrigo Ferrari – Mind Numbing EP (D-Edge Records)

After almost one year after his last release on D-Edge Records, Rodrigo Ferrari is back on the label with four original groovy tracks. The EP rides over deep & tech, exploring intriguing atmospheres with a touch of broken beats moments.

Uone – Phantom Whistler Chapter 1 (Beat & Path Recordings)

The ambient opener’ Universal Wisdom’ dispatches lessons amongst a lattice of synths and sounds. ‘We are spiritual beings having a human experience’, the sage guru relays, opening the circle in a didactic fashion.

A soft, deep house throb welcomes the listener to ‘Project MK Ultra’: Digestible melodies swirl around a shiny harmonica, a trademark whistle, and a vocal discussing past wrongs done by the powers that be; the massive breakdown a tight allegory for the societal tension looking to break.

‘Strike the Match’ is seductive, offering sweet leaf etiquette as a big middle finger to stifling authority. With guitars dripping in chorus pedals and a fat 4/4 engine, this one has it all: sex, drugs and rock n roll — Wild West style.

Max Porcelli – Day and Night EP (989 Records)

Italian producer Max Porcelli delivers a diverse range of sounds on his upcoming release “Day and Night” on 989 Records. The record features six tracks, including the original mixes of “Nikita,” “Dahlia,” “Kora,” and “My Monkey Is Different,” along with radio mixes of “Kora” and “My Monkey Is Different.”

Matt Sawyer – Rendering (Villahangar Records)

After almost two years since the last EP, Cloud’s Song of 2021, Matt Sawyer returns with a new release for Villahangar: “Rendering”, a song whose story coincides with a personal journey that becomes musical: a starting overture, to which drums and pressing rhythms are modeled around the drop and the piano turn. An experimentation after the one in “Behind the sun”, a track together with ManuEl of Cloud’s Song EP: a psychedelic melody continues to evolve, but appeares magically, for a turn towards another surprising and unexpected direction.

Created over several years, inspired by the piano turns of classics from a ten-year archive, the track starts without any main riff, only atmosphere and waiting, and after the right squaring of sounds, the melody is enriched with multiple influences. A song that is the result of a series of life experiences, beautiful or not, formative: the beginning of a new path where the freedom to express oneself in all honesty is told, with a sincere and disenchanted look.

Cosenza – Doubble Troubble EP (MicroHertz Records)

With a penchant for quality avant-garde artists and releases, Archie Hamilton’s MicroHertz releases the ‘Doubble Troubble EP’ from Argentina’s Cosenza, which comes complete with a sublime remix from the highly regarded underground French artist Man/ipulate.

Cosenza is fast becoming one of Argentina’s most respected artists in the minimal deep tech scene. Since his first release back in 2019 his stock has continued to rise through his releases on esteemed labels such as Key Records, Djebali, Politics Of Dancing, Hoarder, Talman and more. His music is regularly supported by industry luminaries such as Hot Since 82, wAFF, Sidney Charles and Archie Hamilton, who recently remixed Cosenza’s track Space Runner on Key Records. He’s a regular on the touring circuit in South America and further afield, taking his stripped back groove infused sounds to Europe and countries such as Spain, Germany and Poland.

For his first release on MicroHertz he unveils his ‘Doubble Troubble EP’. First out of the box is ‘Hitting Records’ a track of pure quality, blending old school analogue drum patterns and synths into 2023 style productions. Its pack full of groove and its hypnotic deep feel is perfect to lose yourself on the dancefloor. Next up is ‘Waterproof’ which takes its name from the crazy tripped out water droplet sound that moves through the track giving it a very special and unique sound. This combined with a killer bassline will hook the crowd and take them on a journey into the deep.

Last but certainly not least is Man/ipulate’s remix of ‘Doubble Troubble’. The French selector and trusted member of the Sentaku crew has been enthralling crowds with his delectable DJ sets around his native France and further afield in places such as the UK, Germany and Spain. His remix is a stunning 7 minute journey of deep and elegant bliss. This will be a key track for those with a discerning ear and finishing this EP to perfect.
