Somethin’ Sanctified – Taqui EP (TOR Music)

When We Dip’s label TOR presents a stripped back deep house release by British duo Somethin’ Sanctified.

Somethin’ Sanctified previously featured a track on one of TOR’s Tales of Romance compilations, and this time they are back with a two track solo EP.

In addition to TOR, Somethin’ Sanctified have also featured tracks and remixes on labels ranging from Exploited to Needwant, and their style revolves around analogue-drenched house with a touch of lo-fi and disco tones.

The duo consists of Simon Mills and Joel Hood, each bringing a lifetime of production experience, and a studio brimming with dusty hardware equipment.

Both of the tracks have smooth synths and ambient textures combined with moody atmosphere to create timeless grooves that are perfect for the dance floor.

Dan Bay – Del Tempo (Les Disques Du Bord De L’Eau)

Del Tiempo was composed by Dan Bay, DJ and one of the leading producer of the electronica & downtempo scene in Germany. For this Winter 2021 EP, he teamed up with Manu Ela, a multi-face Chilean artist based in Berlin.

This title, which refers to the passing of time and the value of patience, was dreamily illustrated by Amikal, street artist from Geneva. He closes the series of 4 EP’s of the seasons with a pop ballad, acidulous and melancholic whose soft voice of Manu and the tight compositions of Dan marry perfectly.

Two remixes complete this latest release of the year 2021, with a first downtempo remix of Samarana, whose signature productions bring a more introspective listening, and the second remix of Christophe Hétier aka Antipop, half of the legendary band Télépopmusik, whose hardly classable style sounds as retro as futuristic.

We’re delighted to welcome Algerian producer Bad-Ri to Ready Mix Records with his single ‘Containment’, featuring remixes from Soire and Ahiram.

Bad-Ri, first came to our attention through ‘N’Ajjer’ his excellent collaboration with breakthrough electronic talent (and now Ready Mix regular) Ephlum, on Bercana Music. ‘Containment’, his debut on Ready Mix Records, blends soulful R&B vocals with a moody, blunted electronic groove and a warm Nu-Disco influenced bassline.

Also known to Deep House fans as Moe Turk, Lebanese producer Soire expertly remakes ‘Containment’, adding Balearic guitar chords and ethereal synth atmospheres which compliment the live bass and vocal to heady perfection.

Fresh from his debut Ready Mix single ‘Mar Mikhael’, Swedish producer Ahiram dreams up a compact, light and intricately grooving Deep House rework of ‘Containment’, driven forward by rhythmic chord stabs and tight drums.

Birds of Mind – Inside Your Head (Kindisch Records)

Birds Of Mind tease their intoxicating upcoming album ‘Journey’ with superb lead single ‘Inside Your Head.’

The new album ‘Journey’ will come on Kindisch in December and will be followed by releases on sister label Get Physical. It is a deeply emotional record laced with spirituality and peaceful sounds, as is often the way with the music made by Paris-based duo Alex H. and Adrian C. Between them they have studied filmmaking in NYC and violin and piano at the Conservatory of Paris. They have traveled the world picking up disparate influences and inspiration from nature, and Alex spends half his year DJing on the island of Mykonos.

Before the much-anticipated album comes the ‘Inside Your Head’ single. It is a delicate late-night lullaby with subtly seductive drums that flow like water. Warm chords and a sparse smattering of hits add to the hypnotic effect while harmonic sounds flood the mix. But it is the pained vocal and romantic sax line that linger in the air and bring a most devastating emotional impact to this heartfelt groove.

‘Inside Your Head’ is a perfect indication of the quiet artistry that makes ‘Journey’ such a standout album.

RemyWest – Into You (Orange Bridge Records)

RemyWest is a talented South African music producer from a small town in Limpopo, Westenburg. He is the founder of “West Records” and best known for his unique basslines and style in Deep House, Deep Tech, EDM and Afro music production.
