VA – Mental Picks Vol50 (Expmental Records)

Mental Picks Vol. 50 marks a special chapter for Expmental Records. What began as a Various Artists series to showcase emerging talent and more leftfield cuts outside the usual schedule has become a fan favtheirite, appearing only a few times per year and always landing with strong support.

As with every first release of the year, XPM open with a collaboration from label boss Eddy Romero and Lobo Miro – their second joint track after appearing together on Mental Picks Vol. 49. This time they deliver a refined Deep Tech tool, stripped yet powerful, with rolling grooves and precise sound design made to work the dancefloor from warm-up to peak time.

For the second track XPM travel to Kazakhstan to welcome MonoLead for his debut on the label. His contribution channels the spirit of those golden Deep House / Dub House days with a Minimal House touch – crisp drums, deep atmospheres and subtle dubby elements that instantly recall the vibe of Poker Flat, one of Eddy’s long-time reference labels.

Closing the VA, Pier Mood, the Italian artist based in Barcelona, returns to Expmental with a beautifully evolving jtheirney. His track blends deep, emotive textures with a rolling, hypnotic groove, offering a classy and introspective trip that perfectly completes the release.

With Mental Picks Vol50 XPM enter their 18th year in the underground, still making noise and supporting artists from around the world.

Lenz (DE) – Shadow Kiss (Personal Belongings)

Lenz (DE) signature sound have always found its spot into our favorites, thanks to its balance between Deep and Organic House keeping melodies and emotions as the main ingredient of their storytelling.

‘Shadow Kiss’ follows this journey, with lush pads and atmospheres that slow down the time surrounding melodies to touch your soul. The original mix is more mature, with deeper vocals and message – while the Dream mix is more musical.

On the remix duties we are so happy to welcome 2bnsn and Duel (HU) to PB family, both presenting different but complementing versions. 2bnsn remix is a more rhytmic, stripped down version which focuses on the groove and using the melodies as minimalistic, catchy elements. Duel (HU) moves towards a progressive, organic version reworking the harmony of the original into a more introspective, nostalgic vibe.

 

Li.La – Different (Agua Salada Records)

Li.La presents Different, a Deep House release designed for the dancefloor, driven by a hypnotic groove and smooth, flowing energy.

Massiande – Tears (Fluid Funk)

Chilean house producer Massiande returns on Fluid Funk with the Special Mixes of his track “Tears”.

The original version was released on his Fluid Funk debut EP “Essential” at the end of 2025. A textbook slab of Massiande’s ever-expanding palette of woozy house tropes and silken disco touch, the Special Mixes have it all and present an instrumental version and a dub version with and without vocals.

An absolute weapon for any DJ seeking either impactful elegance in a peak-time context or to rekindle the flame when the after gets a bit too prosaic and requires that extra funky boost to get back on track.

Jo.Ke – Cuídame EP (Dafne Records)

Jo.Ke presents the “Cuídame EP” on Dafne Records, featuring remixes from Roderic and Chris Schwarzwälder.

Both producers give Jo.Ke’s original more club-focused energy while maintaining a smooth, controlled groove.

Roderic and Schwarzwälder each bring their own approach, delivering versions that add drive without losing the essential vibe. The remixes show how you can take something deeper and make it work for the dancefloor without forcing it.

A solid package for DJs looking for the perfect house cuts to warm up the crowd.

 

Roni Be – Sightsee EP (Cross Land Music)

CLM are thrilled to celebrate the return of Roni Be to the family with his high-energy new EP.

Comprising the original tracks «Sightsee» and «I Need It», this release is a vibrant showcase of rhythm and groove. Roni Be masterfully blends Afro-inspired energy with the soulful foundations of Organic House, delivering pulsating percussion and a driving atmosphere that we are absolutely excited to share.

This EP is a testament to his dynamic production style and his evolving journey with our label.

Michael Sutton, Ross Rowley & Luca Hart – Solid Ground (Personal Belongings)

Michael Sutton joins forces with Ross Rowley and Luca Hart presenting one of our favorite releases so far – ‘Solid Ground’! An emotional, melodic journey led by Luca’s outstanding vocal performance and enhanced with Michael and Ross musical capabilities.

On the remix duties, we selected a special cast with Music P, St.Ego and Kanedo & Jon Sweetname offering a wide spectrum of genres to choose from. Music P sets a serious, danceable vibe with a club approach in a Deep House flavour, and St.Ego creates a softer, organic version perfect for sunset environments.

Closing out the EP, Kanedo joins Jon Sweetname creating the deeper version of the release with a smooth, stripped down remix fitting combining both producers background crafting a beach-friendly gem.

 

Bread&Butter – Talking Heads EP (Solina Records)

Back on the label, the Romanian Bread&Butter delivers a focused four-track release built around tight grooves, expressive vocal elements, and refined club functionality.

‘Talking Heads’ EP showcases his signature sound while pushing it forward with confidence and clarity, offering versatile cuts designed for peak-time and late-night moments alike. Each track stands on its own while contributing to a cohesive narrative, showcasing the artist ability to blend subtle musical storytelling with club-ready energy.

A strong and cohesive release that marks a solid return to Solina.

 

Formula 410 – afRoPiaNo Vol. 1 (Needle & Leaf Music Collective)

Formula 410’s afRoPiaNo Vol. 1 is a tight seven-track statement built on movement first: shuffling Amapiano swing, House weight, and classic Afro percussion that’s happy to sit in the pocket and let the groove do the talking. Haute Musique welcomes Phasen to the fold for its 64th release with the Hanna Park EP, a classy two-tracker rooted deep in dubby house sensibilities. The release is complemented by two solid remixes courtesy of BiG AL and D.M.P.

Opening with the title cut, ‘Hanna Park’ sets the tone with warm, enveloping pads, evolving melodies, and a subtle dub haze that drips mood and late-night soul.
