Haute Musique continues its forward-thinking trajectory with its 67th release, ‘Don’t Put the Guinea Pig In Water EP’, introducing a fresh and intriguingly named project, The Tricky Band. Spearheaded by seasoned craftsman Robert R. Hardy, aka D.M.P. and/or Khaaron, this new alias shifts focus toward a more refined palette of downtempo, and lounge-infused, mushroom jazz, deep house textures. The result is a debut that feels less like an experiment and more like the confident unveiling of a long-evolved sonic identity.

Opening cut ‘Don’t Put The Guinea Pig In Water’ sets the tone with a laid-back, breakbeat-driven groove that leans into jazz-laced chord progressions and delicate melodic phrasing. There’s a warm, analog sensibility running throughout, as dusty drums shuffle beneath smooth keys and subtle harmonic flourishes. It carries that unmistakable classic deep house essence, but refracted through a more chilled, introspective lens, perfectly balancing groove with atmosphere. The track unfolds patiently, rewarding attentive listening with nuanced details and a quietly infectious swing.

On the flip, ‘Kids Will Be Kids’ builds on the EP’s aesthetic while introducing a more emotive dimension. Filtered vocal licks drift in and out like distant memories, adding a human touch to the composition, while bluesy jazz guitar riffs weave effortlessly through the arrangement. The breakbeat foundation remains, but here it feels more dynamic, pushing and pulling against the melodic elements to create a richer, more expressive journey.

G. Zamora – Así EP (IZIKI Music)

Iziki is proud to welcome one of the defining voices of modern Latin electronic music into the family: G. Zamora!

When it comes to electronic Latin sounds, Zamora is a name that resonates with DJs across the scene. A skilled multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, he has quickly become a true embodiment of the sound he represents. Here he delivers two original creations — Así and Martillo — both built from organic elements recorded in his studio: congas, flutes, original vocals, and analog synthesizers.

Así — meaning “this way” — captures Zamora in his purest form: minimal yet melodic, driven by rich percussion and guided by his unmistakable voice. It reflects the quiet certainty of intuition — that inner knowing that points us in the right direction. Whether we follow it or not, is up to us. Así is about moving through life without inner conflict — feeling good, embracing the journey, sharing, loving, and appreciating the small details.

Martillo — meaning “hammer” — rides a groove between Afro and Latin influences. The hammer, as a symbol, represents transformation: shaping, opening paths, and, when needed, breaking things down to rebuild anew. The track carries a message of intention and commitment — that what you truly want is within reach, but only if you’re willing to meet it halfway.

OHR are proud to welcome Johnny Deep to the label with his debut release, “Hold Me Back” — a three-track EP that dives deep into the heart of groove-driven deep house.

Known for his releases on a formidable roster of labels including Dirtybird, Polyptych, Paper Recordings, Deepwit, Lucidflow, and many more, Johnny Deep has built a reputation as an artist who follows his spirit without compromise. His music is rooted in a philosophy that celebrates the spontaneous, the original, and the irreverent — a voice that refuses to be automated or contained.

“Hold Me Back” is a fitting introduction to the label. Across three distinct versions, Johnny explores the full spectrum of the groove — from the organic warmth of deep house to hypnotic, floor-ready rhythms that reward both careful listening and peak-hour play. Each version brings its own character while staying true to a cohesive, deeply soulful vision.

 

KingCrowney – The Palace Offering EP (Definitive Recordings)

Definitive Recordings welcome KingCrowney for his debut on the label with ‘The Palace Offering EP’, a three-track release that blends classic deep house foundations with jazz influences and global rhythms. A trumpeter as well as a producer, KingCrowney brings a distinctive musicality to his productions, weaving live instrumentation into dancefloor-focused house music.

London-based KingCrowney has quickly emerged as one of the city’s most exciting deep house talents. Recognised by Traxsource and DJ Mag as an artist to watch, his collaboration with deep house pioneer Jimpster, ‘The Back’, spent months dominating the Traxsource deep house charts. Further releases such as ‘Intentions’ with Max Sinàl and Liv East have cemented his reputation for rich, soulful productions. He has also remixed Ezra Collective on Partisan Records and released music on Defected’s The Remedy Project and Soul Quest Records.

Opening this new EP is ‘Sofa’, a beautifully crafted deep house cut that honours the genre’s roots. Built on a classic house groove, the track features jazzy synth stabs and elegant trumpet lines performed by KingCrowney himself, creating a warm and soulful atmosphere.

The second track, ‘A.Y.W.’ (Anytime You Want), raises the intensity with a slightly stomping groove and a more fierce energy while still staying firmly within classic deep house territory. Once again the trumpet plays a central role, joined by a powerful vocal performance from LEGZDINA, whose distinctive voice adds emotional depth and drive to the track.

Closing the EP, ‘Global Citizen’ (feat. Drizilik) shifts the groove toward Afro-inspired rhythms. The track blends house percussion with afrobeat energy, layered trumpet melodies, and a rap performance from Sierra Leonean artist Drizilik, bringing a global perspective to the release.

With ‘The Palace Offering EP’, KingCrowney delivers a sophisticated blend of house tradition, live instrumentation, and international influences, marking an impressive debut on Definitive Recordings.

 

BiG AL & Amalia Leandro – Soul Inspiration (Personal Belongings)

When it comes to hypnotic, precise and smooth Deep House grooves, is difficult to get better than BiG AL. PBR are once again pleased to welcome Ready Mix Records chief, this time joining forces with Amalia Leandro to deliver ‘Soul Inspiration’.

The original mix is a groovy masterpiece, energic but soothing at the same time. AL’s signature grooves set a mood suitable for dancing, elevated by Amalia’s evoking and inspiring vocals.

On the remix duties, we invited groove maestros David Ol and Sweden’s very own 07:08 – both taking the remixes in slightly different directions. David Ol vision leans towards a club-friendly vibe, with a stronger groove and deeper bassline while 07:08 debuts on PBR with his characteristic dub, refined sound that stops the time immediately.

Lithuanian aerobatic champion Igoris Lobanovas as becomes an integral part of this vision, with his aerial performance shaping the visual narrative of the piece. The music was composed to move alongside flight — translating precision, speed, and fluidity into sound. The official video captures this connection, where sky and music merge into a single choreography. Vocals by GØYA add a human, emotional layer — grounding the track’s expansive sonic landscape.

Sabo’s record label, Sol Selectas, welcomes a mystical organic house EP by Tamer ElDerini.

Tapping into his Egyptian heritage, Tamer ElDerini’s sound combines melodic synths with Middle-Eastern melodies and revitalising percussion. This is his first solo EP on Sol Selectas, following tracks on three of the label’s compilation releases.

Based in Cairo, Tamer ElDerini is one of Egypt’s most accomplished electronic music producers, combining the ancient influences of his birthplace with modern electronic music. He has also worked with other respected imprints such as • kosa •, Cosmic Awakenings, and Pipe & Pochet.

The title track, “Kalam” opens the release with ceremonial chants and a pulsating bassline intertwining with traditional instruments such as the kanun.

“Baladoka” is an up-tempo track with sparkling organic strings and Egyptian flutes combining with melodic pads, Afro rhythms, and emotive male vocals.

“Lotus” has trumpets and piano chords blended with shuffling percussion to create a spellbinding groove, while cinematic Arabic vocals give it a truly epic sound.

“Manazel” is a downtempo track with a chugging bassline and arpeggio melody synth, which has been layered with organic percussion, string flutters, and soaring vocal tones.

The artwork by Helia Jamali transports listeners into a mystical landscape where the spirit of Kalam echoes through the mountains.
