4 Da People – Sem Ti (Grey City Records)
4 Da People Goes Deep Into the Soul on EP ‘Sem Ti’
There are releases that make you move, and then there are releases that make you feel. Sem Ti, the stunning new EP from 4 Da People on Grey City Records, falls decisively into the second category. Arriving worldwide on May 19th, 2026, this is a bold and beautifully intimate three-track offering that finds the vocalist singing in Portuguese, weaving together Soul, Soulful House, and a breathtaking exploration of Jazztronica and Nu-Jazz. It is deep, warm, groovy, sexy, and impossibly soulful, a record that exists in the space between a late-night club and a dimly lit listening room.
The EP opens with its title track, “Sem Ti,” presented in its purest form, a straight Soul ballad that stops time. Stripped back to little more than a velvet vocal, gentle piano chords, and a soft bed of warmth, 4 Da People immediately commands attention. The Portuguese lyrics, aching, romantic, and steeped in saudade, need no translation to land their emotional punch. It is a brave move to lead a dance-oriented EP with such raw vulnerability, but it pays off magnificently. This is the sound of 3 a.m. honesty.
Then comes the transformation. The second track reimagines “Sem Ti” as a piece of Soulful House, and the result is nothing short of transcendent. 4 Da People knows exactly how to build a groove without sacrificing an ounce of emotion. A deep, rolling bassline and soft, shuffling percussion lift the original vocal into new territory. The warmth remains, but now there is a gentle insistence, a pulse that invites the body to move while the heart stays fully engaged. The vocal phrasing, originally so tender, takes on a new kind of longing when placed over a house beat. It is sexy, it is deep, and it is pure dancefloor catharsis.
And just when you think you have understood the scope of this EP, the third track arrives like a curveball from a parallel dimension. 4 Da People strips “Sem Ti” down once more, this time rebuilding it through the lens of Jazztronica and Nu-Jazz. Sinuous, off-kilter beats interplay with live-feeling Rhodes chords, subtle electronic glitches, and breathy horn-like synth pads. The vocal becomes fragmented, looped, and treated as another instrument in an ensemble that sounds both futuristic and timeless. It is groovy in the most cerebral sense, music for the head, the hips, and the heart all at once. This is the sound of a producer completely in command of their craft, unafraid to push boundaries while keeping the soul intact.
Across all three versions, what remains constant is 4 Da People’s voice, both literally and artistically. The Portuguese language adds a layer of intimacy and mystery for non-speakers, while native listeners will catch every poetic nuance. The mood is cohesive, deep, warm, groovy, soulful, and jazzy from start to finish. Each remix feels like a necessary chapter, not a filler track.
Sem Ti is a risk that pays off in full. In an era where so much dance music plays it safe, 4 Da People has delivered an EP that is genuinely surprising, emotionally resonant, and physically compelling. Grey City Records continues to build a catalog that prioritizes artistry over algorithm.
Do not sleep on this one. May 19th can’t come soon enough.
Sem Ti by 4 Da People drops worldwide on May 19th, 2026 via Grey City Records on all digital stores and streaming platforms.

VA – Focus:019 (Addex Tribute) (Ready Mix Records)
Release Date:
May 15th 2026 (Beatport Exclusive)
May 29th 2026 (Worldwide)
Ready Mix Records delivers one of its most heartfelt chapters to date with the 19th edition of its Focus compilation series, a deeply moving tribute to a cherished artist, collaborator, and friend, Addex.
This isn’t just another compilation. It’s a moment of reflection.
In the wake of Addex’s passing, the label turns the spotlight toward a producer whose music spoke in quiet depth but resonated loudly across the global deep house community. Known for his humility, warmth, and unmistakable sonic signature, Addex carved out a space where emotion and groove coexisted effortlessly. His productions were never about excess, always about that deep feeling.
Focus 19 brings together 14 carefully selected originals and remixes that trace the essence of his artistry. It opens with the breathtaking Envision, a lush and meditative piece that instantly sets the tone. From there, the journey unfolds into a newly remastered version of his remix of John Creamer & Stephane K feat. Nkemdi’s iconic I Wish You Were Here, a fitting inclusion that echoes both nostalgia and timelessness.
Next, Only Dust Remains drifts with elegant beauty, its subtle textures and emotional vocals capturing a sense of quiet finality. Heart Is Always Young, alongside Ilias Katelanos, injects a warmer, more hopeful energy, a reminder of Addex’s ability to balance melancholy with light. Tracks like Riverside and Till’ The Sunrise showcase his signature late-night sound: fluid basslines, delicate atmospheres, and grooves that breathe.
On the remix front, Addex’s touch proves just as powerful. His reinterpretation of Onur Ozman’s The Voice of You is hypnotic and understated, while his take on Marco Grandi’s Soulounge leans into a deeper groove. Soulight’s Own Flights is elevated into a floating, dreamlike space, and the Addex remix of Moti Brothers’ After Room carries a subtle intensity that lingers long after the last note fades.
Deeper into the compilation, Point of No Return and Blazing underline his versatility, from introspective to quietly driving, while his remix of Focus by Rory Cochrane feat. Sanna Hartfield feels particularly poignant here, as if the title itself becomes a symbolic thread tying the entire release together. For the finale, Acoustic Moonlight closes the journey on a tender farewell note.
Focus 19 is more than a collection of tracks, it’s a celebration of Addex’ life lived through music. A tribute to a soul who gave so much without ever needing the spotlight.
Addex may be gone, but his sound; timeless, honest, and profoundly human, will continue to echo where it matters most: on the dancefloor, and in the hearts of those who listen.
This is Ready Mix Records at its most sincere, a beautifully curated homage that captures the spirit, depth, and legacy of an artist who will never be forgotten.
RIP Addex!
